The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. Help with BES 4.1 / Exchange 2003 / SBS 2003 R2 configuring a user and their new blackberry

Client is running sbs 2003 R2 with the exchange 2003 that comes with it and BES 4.1 (the free single user app - I've heard it called Blackberry pro and other things).

BES was configured correctly per info I had and since lost... but it's been working for months OK.  (keep in mind this was / is my only dealing with blackberrys and the server app.  all other clients that have blackberry use blackberry.com/go/vzw for their email.  this user wants calendar also so that required BES, right?

User got rid of his old phone a month ago, unknown to me.  and got a new one recently.  I am having problems getting  this new blackberry working.  He can make / send calls OK with this phone.

At first I thought I could update his record in bes for the new phone.  didn't seem doable.  then someone said to set a new password and have the user use that in enterprise activation on the phone.  he said he got an email in his corp account saying 'This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server.'   The phone said initiating, then fail, several times.

I decide to start from scratch.  I delete the user.  trying to re add user, system says he's pending delete.  I wind up after waiting days / restarting server and bes, just editing the database from dos command to delete user.

I go in to add user wizard, choose his name from the list of accounts and choose online setup.  it sends him an email saying to go into enterprise activation and enter the password it sent him, along with his email address.  

again, he gets an email back to his corp account  'This message is used to carry data between the BlackBerry handheld and an associated server.'  his blackberry keeps cycling between initializing and failed...

any advice where to start to troubleshoot this?!
