SBS Monitoring Quick and Easy
Hi all,
Got client who has over the last couple of days had their bandwidth usage go through the roof. The are running SBS 2003, NO ISA, two NICS. No intelligent firewall etc.
I need to be able to put in a quick and nasty bandwidth monitor - any suggestions?

Most likely cause is torrents or P2P.
Unfortunately without firewall/proxy hard to isolate.
I would first of all see if I can check each machine individually - if only small and local.
Also if you look at www.spiceworks.com this is a basic network monitoring tool. You can see if any computer has torrent or p2p software. It does have some network management tools - but it doesnt really specify internet traffic over standard network traffic.
You could check-out www.netlimiter.com
I have used this a few times to try and isolate issues or programs/ports which might be chewing your data.

Just to be clear, all you're wanting is a reading of the total bandwidth coming through, or are you wanting something does more of an analysis and tells which users, etc. are using how much bandwidth?
