Question

Display a message to users trying to access barred sites

Asked by: NELMO

I have created a URL set of blocked sites and created a deny rule in ISA server 2004.
Access to the sites is now denied and when access is tried the user receives an 'Error' web page with the title "Network Access Message: The page cannot be displayed".
There is technical Information at the bottom ofthe page explaining that  "The ISA Server denied the specified Uniform Resource Locator (URL). "

Is there any way to direct them to a page where they can be told the information a little more clearly and that they should contact their Line Manager if they think the deny rule is incorrect.

thanks for viewing

You can edit the error page itself. Find the 404.x page that is being served and edit the text.

Where on the SBS server would I find the 404 pages?

In IIS manager.

I've been into the web site properties in IIS manager and looked at all the 404x error pages but none of them are the one displayed.
I have attached the page that is displayed (can't attach html so it is a pdf print screen) when a user tries to access one of the denied sites.

thanks

Looks like it is a 502.x error message as shown at the bottom of the PDF file.

Any progress?

No
None of the error pages look like the page we get displayed.

I have created the deny rule in ISA server 2004.
If I right click the rule, choose properties the the Action tab, it shows Deny is chosen with an option to redirect http requests to a web page.
However, it wants the URL of the web page.
I have created a page and put it in the SharePoint companyweb, which works. . . but, I can't get the page to display any graphics (probably another question to be raised in the SharePoint forum?
