SBS 2008 Set up you Internet address wizard fails

Whenever I run the Set up you Internet address wizard it fails with "Windows SBS 2008 Domain Purchase and Configuration Wizard has stopped working".
The customer already got a domain and want to manage the domain myself. I change the prefix from remote to mail and enter the customer domain name and then the wizard fails.
There're no records in Event Viewer about this error.

Anyone got a fix for this?

so when you start the wizard, are you selecting that you own a domain name already or that you want to buy a new domain?

I select that I already got a domain and that I want to manage the domain myself.
And is that the point when it blew up?

It's when I click configure and then the wizard starts configuring and after a little while the error message appears
And what is the exact error message?   How many nics in this server?
How much memory?
How much free space on the C drive?
How big is the page file?

The exact error message is: Windows SBS 2008 Domain Purchase and Configuration Wizard has stopped working
1 NIC
8 GB RAM
15 GB free disk space on the C drive
Pagefile size: 16 GB
Have you run the SBS Best Practice Analyzer on the system (www.sbsbpa.com)?

Having been a Small Business Server MVP since 1997,  I've found that people who come asking for assistance in public forums rarely provide all information necessary to really indicate where the true issue may lie.   Who would suspect based on the information provided by the back and forth dialog that Sharepoint issues were preventing the Setup Your Internet Address wizard from running properly?

Size of the pagefile? Come on ;) Better luck next time. You need to upgrade your knowledge to SBS 2008. Floating on old-school Backoffice SBS 4.0 and MVP's form the ancient days ain't gonna hold up in the long run :D

I am sorry to update All that Reinstalling Sharepoint Will not fix the issue.
Infact Reisntalling Sharepoint Breaks Internet Address Management Wizard because the IAM is trying to find a specific GUID for SBS Sharepoint which will not match if you reinstall it.
Hence thats not the fix.
Infact Verify if your CA is working.
You may have to reinstall CA role on the SBS 2008 server.
thanks

The CA was working and it is still working. I have never tried to reinstall the CA, but I would NOT NOT NOT recommend it withouth thorough testing first.

Sharepoint, Exchange 2007, RWW and other components are relying on the current CA, and reinstalling it would lead to a lot of reconfiguration of other components. This is no novice job. (It is not difficult, but you need to know what you're doing on many different areas)

Reinstalling WSS 3.0 solved this issue for us. Maybe we had that GUID thing you are mentioning before we reinstalled? Anyhow. Reinstalling WSS did not break the wizard or create GUID problems. It fixed the wizard.

So. It IS the fix. And I don't see how you conclude that any of these issues relate to CA problems. Actually not at all.
I had this exact problem after a fresh install of SBS 2008 and applying all updates.  The information in this Microsoft article fixed the problem for me without having to reinstall WSS, although it is a WSS issue.
