Server Management in SBS 2003 reports incorrect Service Pack version

When I go to "Server Management" Client Computers, some Windows XP Prof. computers are shown Service Pack 2. Most of them already have SP3 installed, and have all security patches up to date.

What could create such behavior and how can it be corrected?

Have you had a look in the Active Directory computers OU to see what Service Pack it states in there?

Active Directory also reports SP2 not SP3 as it should

Were these computers added to the domain using the http://servername/connectcomputer method?

If not, they are not added correctly to SBS.  There is a special EXE that is run on the clients during logon that does more than just map drives.

Try removing and re-adding one of these problem machines using the above method if you haven't done that.

I do not know how they were added, but there is a login script with the following line of code:

\\Server\Clients\Setup\setup.exe /s Server

That's good, are the clients actually running it?

Would you be able to add a computer using the method above to see if there is a difference in their behavior?
