Really simple one.
Can someone please remind me how to get a workstation to join a domain.
I have a domain called KEYLOOP and I've added the computer name to the 'Domain Computer'. At the moment, the workstation is simply acting as standalone pc and I would like to configure it so that when it boots up it asks what domain to join - Basically, every computer sees the login prompt in any business environment.
I've just forgotton what I need to do to get the workstation to joing a domain.
I'm currently running XP.
Cheers

KCTS,
I did say that the server isn't a SBS and I that I incorrectly added this question to the wrong forum!

By asking you the question I think I've answered the question myself. Basically, I was trying to add a workstation to a domain, however I didn't want the workstation to be part of the domain - which really doesn't make sense.
Therefore, I think the question has been answered.
I'm sure I'll be back with another question shortly.
Thanks everyone.
Cheers

I actually do want the pc to be on the network but not part of the domain. However, judging by your answer and that of KCTS its either not feasible or not the way to go.
At the moment, the server does not issue DHCP addresses.
I have created a computer account.
Therefore, I think the only answer is make the computer a part of the domain. Correct?
Cheers
If you don't want the machine to be on the domain then you don't need to create a computr account, you can just connect to the domain like it was any other machine on a peer to peer basis. however. as you have a domain controller it would make sense to make it a member of the domain for ease of administration in the long term

if the client has a valid IP address you can just open internet explorer and goto http://servername/connect replace servername with the name of your SBS server.
