The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Retrieving exported email from Exchange 2003 on SBS 2003

Asked by WineGeek in SBS Small Business Server

I had to rebuild this SBS 2003 box. I exported the mailboxes using Exmerge. To restore those exported mailboxes, I have:

1) Used Exmerge but it's failing immediately upon touching the mailbox, even after I"ve created a new user account specifically for using Exmerge and given that user account the appripriate Send & REceive permissions on the mail store in Exchange.

What am I missing? Why is Exmerge so difficult to get to work?

2) I have successfully imported one user's exported PST file back into Exchange using Outlook. But on the owner's mailbox that I'm doing now, Outlook is telling me the PST file is corrupt and I should use Scanpst. I've already run Scanpst ona copy of his PST file and I think it errored too.

Could some of these PST files actually be corrupt? The owner's PST file is just over 2 GB and we're using Outlook 2003. Does that 2GB file size present any problem for using Exmerge or importing the PST file back in using Outlook?

I"m just hoping there is a simple step or process that can allow me to restore all these 25 mailboxes by tomorrow morning. Thanks for any helpful input.
