Browse All TopicsI need some guidance on configuring SBS2008 to allow IMAP to work with Outlook 2000. Outlook 2000 is not compatible with Exchnage 2007 so I need to IMAP.

On the exchange server start the imap service by typing the the following into EMS
set-service msexchangeimap4 -startuptype automatic
start-service -name msexchangeimap4
Also check that imap is enable on the mailbox goto properties of the mailbox then mailbox feature tabs and enable imap
In outlook goto tools the accounts and create an imap connection using your sbs server name when asked asked
You may need to configure SMTP To allow this. This article describes how (it's about half way down): http://www.msexchange.org/

Here's how to do it for SBS: http://technet.microsoft.c om/en-us/l ibrary/bb1 24489.aspx . NOte you also have to open a port in your firewall for 143 (IMAP) and 25 (SMTP).
