SBS2008 Migration - what am I missing
I am working on a 2003 to 2008 Migration and something appears to be wrong:
When trying to run the migration wizard, I get an error while using both the administrator login and the alternate administrator account. Here are the screen shots. Is there a way to get around using it from the SBS2008 console? or is there some flag/setting missing for the janedoe admin account? The new account is a network admin account created from the new user wizard in the SBS2008 console.
Thanks

No, the from server is running SBS2003 Premium.
Did you have ISA and 2 NICs on the SBS 2003 Server? Did you remove ISA and the second nic?
Simple question: Right now you are looking at the SBS console which means the OS installation portion is already complete. When the OS was installed, was it installed in migration mode? That is required to use the migration wizard from the console.

2nd nic was disabled, and no isa installed.
Yes, the answer file was created and during the install it picked up in mirgration mode. Added itself to the domain and everything seemed to go fine...UNTIL now :)
So in the screen shots, you see the migration wizard being clicked on by the built-in administrator account and again by the new administrator added after the install.

Dang Cliff, that was not the answer I was looking for at all :)
I have moved all the user mail into SBS2008 already, so it looks like I get to move it back and begin the process over...
Do you know if the migration is started over, does that reset the 21 day timer or is it running no matter what from the day the migration started?

The 21-day grace period starts when theFSMO roles are first transferred, so the clock is ticking.

Thanks Cliff
Can you double check me on this step:
1) Move the mailboxes back to SBS2003
2) Reset the public foleders back to SBS2003
3) Uninstall Exchange 2007 from SBS2008 - fix/remove the mail connector in Ek2003
4) Dcpromo the SBS2008 server
5) Delete the computer from AD
6) Create new answer file
7) Start over with a new install of SBS2008 in Migration mode
All the prep work was done in SBS2003, does it need to be done again?
Thanks

BTW: Do I need to transfer the FSMO role back to SBS2003?
I did a short search on this topic, and needless to say there are many varations on the idea of doing this.
Thanks

If so you will need to do it manually, the wizards cannot be used.
