SBS 2008 Moving From Pop 3 Connector To SMTP
I have recently taken on a client that currently receives his emails via the pop 3 connector. They have multiple domain names and have configured the pop 3 connector via the sbs console.
I would like to each domain to receive mail via SMTP rather than use the pop 3 connector, apart from changing the mx records to point to the servers external ip and disabling the pop 3 connector is there anything else I need to do on the server for exchange to receive the mails directly?
From what I know SMTP has never been used on this server before.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply,
As the client has several accepted domains, I planned to move one domain name at a time so that there was minimal disruption.
If I run the internet connect wizard will this undo the config of the other domains that are still using the pop 3 connector?

This solution is only available to members.
To access this solution, you must be a member of Experts Exchange.
OR for that reason, you could re-run connect to internet wizard and it should guide you to resolution.
From normal Exchange stand point, you need to have the following
-> Have an accepted domain that has email domain on it.
-> Have email address policy that has email address configured on it for recipients to be stamped for it.
-> Have Anonymous users permission enabled on receive connector enabled.
-> Lastly, have MX pointed towards Exchange Server.
That's it.
