SMS 2003 secondary site install

Hi experts

I have recently installed a new secondary site SMS 2003 SP2 . However reviewing the site status, I noticed the following under componet staus: SMS_SITE_COMPONENT_MANAGER . In addtion, I have verifed  the new secondary site computer account has full access under the "System Management" container in Active Directory. Should I manually create this object under "sytem management" container ? BTW: my schema has been extend several months ago and have installed a few  SMS secondary sites in the past and don't recall running into this problem. Just seems strange that I'm having this problem now, shouldn't SMS create this obect automatically during secondary site install ?

Systems Management Server cannot create the object "cn=SMS-MP-JKT-JKTMG01" in Active Directory.

Possible cause: This site's SMS Service account or the site server's machine account may not have full control rights for the "System Management" container in Active Directory
Solution: Give the site's SMS Service account full control rights to the "System Management" container, and all child objects in Active Directory.

Possible cause: Another Active Directory object named "cn=SMS-MP-JKT-JKTMG01" already exists somewhere outside of the "System Management" container
Solution: Locate the other object with the same name, and delete the object from its current location.  Then allow SMS create a new object.

Possible cause: The Active Directory schema has not been extended with the correct SMS Active Directory classes and attributes.
Solution: Turn off Active Directory publishing for each site in the forest, until the schema can be extended.  The schema can be extended with the tool "extadsch.exe" from the SMS CD.

Can you verify that two groups on the primary site server have been modified to include the computer account of the new secondary site server - the "SMS_SiteSystemToSiteServerConnection" group and the "SMS_SiteToSiteConnection" group.

Also, try adding the Secondary Site server computer account on to the domain admins group.

Hello  Stirrin,
My secondary site is work but not sure why , seem odd that I had to use this approach  ?
All our sms site servers are in a  windows global group  . This was the recommended solution provided by our SMS solution provider during our SMS hierarchy setup . This approach was chosen  because we  will be add a large number of SMS secondary sites in the very near future and wanted to easy of administration, thus we created an SMSSite server global group  .  The idea was  when creating a new sms sites we would simply  add the new SMS server to this global group and then the global group will be added to the appropriate  SMS groups for example "SMS_SiteSystemToSiteServerConnection" group  and the "SMS_SiteToSiteConnection" group. We have created about 25 secondary site in the past without any issues , adding the global group to the group above but for some  reason this not working  for us anymore and resulted  errors in my first post when I recently created a new sms secondary site. It seems that SMS is not recognizing the new site server in the global group or perhaps the group is not being update correctly in AD. It just seems odd&The only way I got this to work this time around was to add new  computer account to "SMS_SiteSystemToSiteServerConnection"  and the "SMS_SiteToSiteConnection" group and NOT use the  global group. Any idea why using the global group is not working but did in the past ??

Hi, I am not really sure but I have seen some cases in which removing the computer accounts from the group and adding them back later on seemed to solve the problem.
