I have recently installed MS Configuration Manager 2007, after a 2003 installation went bang (it's a long story, and really not that interesting).
It was a fresh install of Windows (raid completely blacked, partitions recreated to ensure all traces of 2k3 were removed).
I have configured the boundaries, client discovery methods & installation methods (etc)
Everything has populated as i would have expected, the client roll out is going fine, however there are isolated instances where the client is reporting (ccm.log) a successful installation and services being started successfully, however the configuration manager console is showing the client as not installed, and the computer as not approved. I can start remote tools on these computers, and connect successfully, however they are not displaying any advertisements.
Fortunately one of the machines is in the IT department so I can "tinker" freely without too much hassle. fixes attempted.
I have completely uninstalled the client, rebooted and reinstalled (same result)
Uninstalled the client, manually cleaned the registry, rebooted and reinstalled (same result)
Deleted from Configuration Manager, forced a rediscover, then tried the above again (same result)
Manually installed the client from the client PC, using the command line, switches etc.
Getting frustrated now with this, would appreciate and input on this.
Many Thanks for any replies.
