I am planning to roll out SCCM 2007 for the organization that I work for but I have some questions regarding extending the AD Schema for SCCM 2007.
I am following Microsoft recommendations to extend the AD schema for SCCM found on this web site
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680608(TechNet.10).aspx , however I am not quite sure about this step;
3. Disconnect the schema master domain controller from the network.
I dont remember seeing the same requirement when extending the AD schema for SMS 2003 and also I have not seeing this in any SCCM 2007 book and training materials that I have.
Is there a particular reason that Microsoft would recommend extending the AD schema for SCCM offline? Or is Microsoft just wanted to be extra cautious when extending the AD schema for SCCM?
Has anyone tried to extend the AD schema for SCCM while the schema master domain controller is connected to the network? If so, was it successful?
Does anyone know of any source or article that I could get more information on this?
Thanks in advance!
