Skip already installd applications in SCCM2007 task sequences

How do I create a task sequence that checks if the application that are about to be installed  already exist on the target machine, and in that case abort the installation?

Create a custom collection which checks to see if the application is already installed or not, so that it only runs on those particular machines.

Thanks matrixnz, but is it possible to do this in the TS instead?
I have collections that does resource queries in ad groups, now i need to change the program install advertisement and don't want the program to be reinstalled on the clients that already is in the application collection.

I was thinking a solution is an add/remove programs wmi question or something like that but cant find any information about this.

yes your absolutely right. You can query wmi withing the tasksequence as conditiion for the step to be executed.

The WMI query could look like this:
Select * from Win32_Product Where Name LIKE 'Microsoft Office 2007%'
