Is it possible that your Information Store (PRIV.EDB) is at or near maximum size?

ASKER

What is the maximum size?
16GB in Exchange 2003 (Priv1.edb file and the Priv1.stm added together)
this is exchange 2007
Exchange 2007 limit = 50GB
Is that for enterprise too?  And what happens if you go over 50GB?
where do I check the size of my database?
There is no size limit for the Enterprise version.
To check size: :\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Mailbox\First Storage Group
Looking for the .EDB file size.

As crazy as this sounds, if you are running WINS on your network, you MUST be sure to have correct WINS information on your Exchange box.
Ok I am running Exchange 2007 std and I am over 50gb.  What is supposed to happen when you go over 50gb?

Hi,

Unless I am mistaken, the database storage limit for exchange 2007 Standard is 16TB per DB (same as ent)

http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/evaluation/editions.mspx

Thanks
Matthew
Your store is not shutting down at this time is it?
Are other people reporting problems accessing their mailbox at this time?
Actually, it is true that you can continue to expand the size of the DB.  But, performance recommendations would be 75GB per database.  I would create a second store after that.

But, Standard is only 50GB out of the box.
Yes People could no longer use their outlook client when this happened.
What "jlanderson1" has said will resolve your problem then.
Well I have 2 storage groups combined for about 56Gb all together.  I have Exchange 2007 std but when I go into the registry where you can expand the size of the database it already says 100gb.  But somehow the server still managed to take itself offline yesterday.
Oh ok, are there any events in the application log around the time of this error? Event specific to the IS?
Yeah the one I posted at the top of the message
Well thats just saying that the system attendant mailbox could not be opened becuase the store is down, I was wondering if there are errors specific to the store? Maybe some reason why the store is shutting down.

Maybe it was not a store issue, are there any othe revents around that time?
