I have a server 2003 Network with Many Shared Printers on My Print1 Server. What keeps happening is that about 10-20 times a day, I have to keep stoping and starting the print spooler service because when users send documents to the printer they don't get to the printer until I restart the spooler.
looks like your server doesn't have enough resource... how many memory is installed and how fast is the CPU on your server? and how many printers is connected to your server?
Do NOT delete the usb print monitor or tcpip print monitor. This will clean up the print monitors and remove the drivers. You will need to reinstall printers afterwards. Once done be very careful on which printers you allow into the network. Anything with a host based printer will cause nothing but problems. Make sure to use a printer that has PCL based drivers.
