Can anyone explain on how to migrate DNS records during the interforest migration.
Source domain Windows 2003 abc.xyz.com
users are logging in to abc, user login abc\username

Target domain XYZ.com

the FQDN's are different between the source and target domains.
example source domain FQDN of the host hostname.abc.xyz.com

They will not be. You will have to remove all hosts from abc.xyz.com and rejoin them to xyz.com. You cannot merge domains in the way that you are suggesting
