I am currently running 2 domains that do not have a trust setup. I am only able to print across domains when using the administrator account. The printer is shared off of a desktop computer. I am able to browse the network as a non admin and add the printer and then print. When I log off and then on again I get a message saying that access is denied to the printer. Both domains are mixed mode. I have setup permissions to include everyone, network, etc to no avail. Any ideas?
You can use the administrator account because that username exists on both computers/domains.
As you try to access resources from another domain and is not member of a trusted domain, you're treated as an anonymous user. By security reasons, the "Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options\Network access: Let everyone permissions apply to anonymous" is set to disabled.
Setup trust to be able to configure the correct permissions between the domains.
