Question

windows 2008 AD,DC roles recommendations

Asked by: damiro1412

Domain is already prepared for 2003 environment, cause we upgraded exchange server from 200 to 2003, now we want to migrate old domain controller , active directory to new server Windows Server® 2008 and use ability of TS Web Access to servers on our domain, but I'm not sure about roles i can put on DC, AD server.

on old server we have :
- windows 2000 advanced server with roles : AD, PDC (its only only DC on domain), DNS, IIS5.0 (web testing),  SQL server 2000, VSS 2005(Sourcesafe), a bit of everything on that server.

i know procedure about migrating everything to new server, but need your recommendations about roles on new server, i planned to put this roles on new windows 2008 server

- migrate Active Directory, PDC, GC and all roles to new 2008 server, DNS,
- configure server as  TS gateway server (is it ok to put this role on main DC and AD server, security ?)
- Visual Sourcesafe 2005 with access from internet
- IIS 7.0
- File server
- maybe sharepoint server
- sql server 2005

Can all this roles work together or you have some better recommendation ?

Thx in advance.
