Applying Windows 2008 Server GPO to Windows XP Pro

I have a Windows 2008 Server Domain Controller and am trying to apply My Documents redirection GPO to Windows XP Professional workstations running SP3.  The GPO just simply does not apply.  What am I doing wrong?

In Vista/2008, the profile structure has been redesigned (v2) and isn't compatible with older v1-systems 2000/XP/2003.
Open up the folder redirection GPO.
In properties-dialog for the Documents redirection, click Settings-tab and tick the checkbox "Also apply redirection policy to Windows 2000, Windows 2000 Server, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 operating systems"

I don't see that option in the properties=dialog for the Documents redirection policy.  Could it be somewhere else?
If using GPMC in Vista/2008, you have the checkbox. Sounds like you created the GPO by using GPMC on a XP-machine.
Is the GPO linked to OU containing the user objects?
Anything in eventlog on client computers?

That's weird because I created the GPO from A to Z on a Windows 2008 Server.

The GPO is linked to an OU

Only one event in the client PC:

Folder redirection policy application has been delayed until the next logon  because the group policy logon optimization is in effect.
