Is Windows Server 2008 x64 as a domain controller a good idea in my environment?

Hello,
I'm in the process of setting up a new forest domain controller to take over for our aging and overtaxed main domain controller (Win 2003 Std). This one also currently holds the schema master, Domain Naming, RID, and PDC FSMO roles.  Unfortunately this server was tasked with being a backup server as well.  So, as you can guess, I want to get the DC function off of this server as fast as possible. Our current environment has both Windows 2003 and 2000 domain controllers; although, I am in the processes of demoting all the Windows 2000 DCs.  Is a Win2k8 64-bit domain controller a good idea for our environment?  I am unsure of all the nuances of adding a 64-bit DC to a 32-bit pre-Win2k8 environment would be.. or really even if we'd get any real-world benefits out of a 64-bit system. as a domain controller  If it is a good idea to do so, what sort of things should I be mindful of when creating this new 64-bit DC? I have had some experience with Windows Server 2008 as we are currently re-working our Citrix farm with it. We have roughly 7 domain controllers and 60 servers (most servers VM'ed with VMWare ESX 3.5).  Thank you very much for your help!

Thanks Matt!  Would there be any issues in transferring all the FSMO roles listed for the main domain controller over to the new 64-bit DC?
No problem at all. Just follow the normal procedures and it will be fine.

I have deployed a few server running 64-bit Server 2008 and have not had any issues. Don't let the fact that this is a 64-bit operating system scare you because it will not affect the way your domain functions at all. You will also be able to fully take advantage of your hardware and install 64-bit applications.

A server 2008 domain controller should work fine with you Citrix farm and you should have no issues transferring all the FSMO roles to your new DC.

I hope this information helps. Good luck.
It looks like i typed too slow to get points.
Ok, even I'm using it's evaluation version  as a client for my PC in home and office, (even running aero glass, games, network issues and ...) but TCO of Microsoft's products are much higher before release of their first SP.
