Browse All TopicsI am adding a Server 2008 database server running SQL2005 into a Windows 2000 domain. I will upgrade the whole domain in a couple of weeks. The server joined the domain with no problems but when I try to access the program and the database I am getting an issue with rights and securities and I am clueless why. is there an issue with running a 2008 server in a 2000 domain? Are there any issues with the ad controlling a 2000 server? Sitting here typing this out I am starting to wonder if I pulled the plug to soon and should have waited for replication even though I forced replication. Just grasping at straws.

no issues at all, its perfectly fine.....disable UAC on the 2008 server, it can be a killer and its a client based technology as far as i am concerned....also check the windows firewall service...its pretty brutal in 08 (finally works well though) and after, that....what exactly arethe sorts of errors you are getting?
