2008 Server 64 bit OS crash during VM install.

When I set up a VM using SVR 2008 x64, while in the middle of configuring options, the VM locked up.  I tried every possible option to restart or rest the VM but was unsuccessful.  I eventually rebooted the ESX server to gain access to the Windows VM.

I have to believe we are missing some important configuration piece in loading the ESX server.  Ive never encountered this type of issues in any version prior to this.  Here are the details of the configuration:

Dell T610

48gb of memory

Lun 0                     = 1.7TB

Lun 1                     = 500GB               ESX is being installed on LUN1

(2)                          onboard Broadcom NICs               Note: Have installed trying both a Broadcom port and Intel port for the Service Console- made no difference

(1)                          Intel PCI Express Dual NIC

ESX 4 was installed using the default configuration with no extra drivers installed and no custom disk configuration.
