Yeah - I also thought I read somewhere that it wasn't needed anymore but couldn't find that info again and the vendor of the software coursing the issue said I should contact MS to get a DynCache version for W2008R2. MS has now confirmed that DynCache functionality is built-in the memory manager for 2008R2, however the symptoms is exactly the same as for W2003 X64 & W2008 X64 without DynCache, high db transactions coursing the memory to be filled up until no more memory is available.

Well, it certainly appears that DynCache doesn't support 2008R2 and 7... quite possibly because it's no longer needed
