Browse All TopicsI have a 64bit 2008 server, clients are 32 bit XP. I have tried EVERY means possible to get the server to handle the 32 bit drivers, I just can't get it to go.
I need to have users have access to a printer that is on the network and has its own IP address.
What would be the way to do this? I could share the drivers somewhere on the net, if that helps.
Two printers are giving me real trouble, they are Multifunction Copier/Printer/Scanners, one Konica Milota and one Xerox.
I think the way to go would be to say "Use the printer at IP addy x.x.x.x, and use the drivers from //server/printdrive". I hope there is a way to do this!
Thanks.

I know, I know, I can fight my through adding the drivers, hope they are named EXACTLY the same, hope they are EXACTLY the same version, all that cruff...
but my question is, if i wanted to avoid that, is there no way to batch file or GPO adding an IP based printer and somehow telling the install where the drivers are??

What happens when you add the 32bit drivers into the "additional drivers" section?
