Browse All TopicsI'm trying to install SBS 2008 Std on a Fujitsu TX100 S1 server with 8GB and 2 x 500GB RAID 1 SATA drives.
I'm running the Fujitsu Installation DVD to prepare the drives and settings for the SBS install, but I keep getting a message "ServerStartCWind - This server does not have any storge available that can be used to safeguard the status information during an installation process. To be able to successfully use the Installation Manager on this machine please make available suitable backup storage (NAS or USB stick)."
I've tried USB stick, USB drive and still get the same message. If I proceed regardless everything goes trhough ok, it find the LSI RAID conttoller, the NIC and graphics card. It requests the SBS Disk 1 and then after a few secnds the Fuji disk again. It then says that the system will not start to install SBS 2008 x64.
The system reboots, I get the same message as above again, SBS disk is requested and it cannot run the autouninstall.xml file and the installation fails.
Any ideas, I'm completely stuff.
Thanks,
Mike

First, here is our SBS 2008 set up guide: 09/05/sbs- 2008-setup -checklist - v111.html

Secondly, you can set up the RAID array in the RAID adapter's BIOS. Boot into the adapter BIOS, blow away the RAID array defined there. Recreate a new RAID 1 array and save the settings.
Download the most recent WHQL certified RAID driver from Fujitsu's Web site and have it on a USB flash drive. don't plug the drive in yet.
Boot from the Windows SBS 2008 DVD. If the native driver setup within Windows detects the RAID array you will see it available as a location to install to. Set up your OS partition and go. You can install the correct drivers after the fact.
If not, click the Load Drivers link and load the drivers from the USB flash drive that you plug in just before clicking the Load Drivers link. USB will be picked up dynamically by the WinPE environment BTW.
Set your OS partition in the RAID array that should show up after installing the driver and go.
