ahhh ok.... Yeah they continue using Administrator, which I do not have anyway, and my autoban is actually set to 5 days. Just consider it ok then?

Browse All TopicsHi Folks,
Someone continually tries to log into my FTP service here in my network. The problem is that this person is rotating their IP address. They all come from China or Taiwan and one from Saudi Arabia though and all try Administrator. However, I do not have an Administrator account here anyway, so he is not doing any harm, but I would still like to block him somehow. But the problem is the IPs change. Can someone give me some info as far as blocking at the root? The following IPs are the ones he has used so far:
61.153.153.236
59.124.168.64
84.235.126.106 - Saudi
220.191.224.34
I use Autoban after 5 attempts for 5 days so it is forcing the person to change IPs. I use Filezilla as my FTP software on a Windows 2008 Std server.

I have one more question related.... One of my internal users got put on autoban by accident here and I want to unblock her. But when I remove autoban so she can get in and then put it back on, she is back to being banned. Is there a way I can whitelist her off autoban or a place to get her removed off autoban or something? Thanks!

thats normal.. there are bot's out there just randomly trying to bruteforce diffrent useraccounts. as long you have autoban enabled, and have good passwords you schould not be borthered by it. i would increase your ban time to 24 hours.
