Windows Server 2008 r2
I recently upgraded a server from server 2008 sp2 to r2. It had hyper-v installed and the Hyper-v machines are working, managed from any other servers. But in Server Manager on the actual machine, if you click on Roles or Features it try to load the screen but then comes up with failed to refresh.
The Error the comes up on Event viewer Applications and Services logs - Microsoft - Windows - ServerManager - Operational is below.

Same TrustedInstaller error here after an in place upgrade from 2003 R2 to 2008 R2. Ran the Installer hotfix (Windows6.1-KB947821-v2-x6 4.msu) as suggested on several other sites, but the resulting CheckSUR.log file is clean showing no errors.
The upgrade was good untill I loaded several updates. After that the Server Manager Roles and Features sections will not refresh.

I am also looking for this solution. Please update the Microsoft link in the solution.
I ran the System update readiness tool and replaced the files it claimed it was missing. This fixed the issue
Where do we find that tool? (I'll search online too, but if you have easy instructions please post. Thanks for your help)
Can anyone tell me what that link said? Its now dead and I have the exact same issue.
I used this link and it works for me. Not easy to understand, I spend many hours on it but finally Iyou must do it very precisely and it did work. ROles and Features are now back and I did not have to reboot the server !
