Please do the telnet-ing in another machine and if you got a blinking cursor in an empty command prompt, it means your sql server is running and reachable.

remote connect to sql 2005 in server 2008
i can't remote connect to sql server 2005 that is installed in server 2008. i however i can connect to it locally i just can't do it remotely from another machine on the same domain. I try SQL server surface area to enable TCP remote connection, and sql server configuration manager to change the port to something else beside 1433, and also disable firewall or even add an exception port to the port that assign to sql server, and even allow sqlserver and browser in firewall and restart the services and machine but nothing seems to work. If anyone knows why this happen please let me know and help me out. I appreciate and thank you very much.
