Group Policy setting proxy settings but not enabling proxy
HI All,
I have recently upgraded to Server 2008r2 throughout our network. I have created a GPO which sets all proxy settings, eg. prxy.company.local, homepage, etc. If have applied these settings in
>User Configuration>Windows Settings>IE Maintenance
I also want to restrict users from unselecting the proxy and gaining internet access through othermeans, I have enabled the 'Disable Changing Proxy Settings' option from
>User Configuration>Admin Templates>Windows Components>Internet Explorer>
Everything is working as expected, except 'Use a proxy server for your LAN' is not selected. The address and port is entered but it is greyed out because the 'use proxy server' is not getting ticked.
I am using Windows XP Sp3 w/ IE8 on my clients and 2008r2 on my DC's
Any ideas I am pulling my hair out.. All I want to do is set and lock proxy settings.!
Please Help!?

Sorry still doesnt tick the 'use proxy' box for me.. But as I previously said I am trying to set and lock these settings.
Hi
Check the below
Under User configuration open Windows Settings > Internet Explorer
Maintenance > Connections > Proxy Settings.
Enable Proxy setting is enabled.
It should resolve the problem
Log Off and Log in the system once take effect
Cheers,
Prem

I have already implemented these settings.
All are being implemented except the 'use proxy' tick box which of course forces users to use the proxy.
Why is it not selecting it?!
