Windows 7 Roaming Profile Issue with Server 2008 R2

Our profile server is Windows Server 2008 R2 and our desktops are a mix of Windows XP and Windows 7.

Occasionally we will have issues logging on to the Windows 7 machines, but NEVER Windows XP, and the error received is this:

Log Name:      Application
Source:        Microsoft-Windows-User Profiles Service
Date:          10/28/2010 12:03:31 PM
Event ID:      1521
Task Category: None
Level:         Error
Keywords:
User:          DOMAIN\USER
Computer:      PCNAME.DOMAIN
Description:
Windows cannot locate the server copy of your roaming profile and is attempting to log you on with your local profile. Changes to the profile will not be copied to the server when you log off. This error may be caused by network problems or insufficient security rights.

DETAIL - The specified network name is no longer available.

When we reboot the 2008 R2 profile server, all is well, until it happens again.

On the server we recieve the error:

While transmitting or receiving data, the server encountered a network error.  Occasional errors are expecxted, but large amounts of these indicate a possible error in your network configuration.  The error status code is contained within the return data (formatted as Words) and may point you towards the problem.
Log Name:  System
Source:  srv
Event ID:  2012

I am kind of at a loss as to what is happening here.  It works fine, and then quits.  I reboot the profile server, it works again.  Any help at this point would be greatly appreciated.

IPv6 is disabled on our network entirely.

We went ahead and removed Endpoint Protection, and are currently monitoring this situation closely.  I appreciate the suggestion and will get back to you before the end of the week!

Joe
We haven't had this issue again since my last post.  I am assuming all is well for now and I thank you!  I am attributing it to the removal of Endpoint Protection since no other significant changes were made.

We are still receiving several 2012 IDs in our system event log, however I have not noticed it having any sort of negative impact.  They seem to happen a couple times a day, with about 20 errors on the same timestamp, to the second.

Thanks again.
This solution may not be 100%  accurate for everyone, as I realize this is quite a granular problem.  However, I believe I was able to figure out some of my issues with the solution provided here.
