Still Cannot Extend disk in Windows 2008 R2

See the related question.  I removed all the data from the D drive and deleted the partition, but I still cannot extend the C drive.  What am I doing wrong?

is C drive a dymanic partition?

if so, you should be able to right click and extend..

How do I tell what kind partition
if you right click on the partition what are the options?

also, does it show a partition of free space - with no drive letter? - this would be the old D drive

See the picture - the options are:
New Simple Volume
Properties
Help

Everything else is grayed out.
It shows as Unallocated.
hang on... are you right clicking on where it says disk0/disk1 or you right clicking on the drive letter...

try clicking on the drive letter...

That was clicking on the drive letter.

If I click on Disk 0, I get:
Convert to Dynamic Disk

Can I convert the disk to a dynamic disk?  It currently has 3 partitions, one of which is the boot volume.
