thinstation - black mouse with 2008 R2

We are using Thinstation and we are having an issue with a 2008 R2 Terminal Server.  When folks use Thinstation to boot and log into the new server they get a black mouse. When they log into older servers 2003 and 2000 they get the normal mouse.  We downloaded a potential fix for this from Thinstation but it hasn't helped.  Has anybody had this problem and resolved it - we would like to hear how? Also if anybody can recommend any similar open source product - CD booting -  we would be interested.

Do you mean that the mouse cursor on the desktop is black?

Yes, the mouse cursor/pointer is black. But this is nothing to do with Control Panel>Mouse Properties>Pointer, because it set to white already.

Thanks. I will give that a try.
The following seemed to do the trick - http://www.win2008workstation.com/win2008/aero-cursors-in-server-2008. Will keep your idea in the background however for future problems.
Just keep a test case around and when you are about to deploy a new firmware on thinstations customize it according to findings and info here. And good luck!
