How to check if Terminal server licenses are installed?

How could I know how many licenses of remote access (terminal server) are installed in windows server 2008?

I am confused, a customer toldme that he can get access remotly with only having installed CALS of local access, that is impossible, right?

We are talking about an HP Proliant ML350 Server

Do you have a Remote Desktop License Server?

You can run on a 120 day Grace Period for Remote Desktop, after which time, it will expire, and you will need to purchase and install licenses.

Run the License Server Management tools and check your RDS CALS (renamed TS CALS).

Usually you can use RDP to Remotely Access a Windows 2008 Server with Two Administrators users.

I have checked and the licenses that were installed are described like this:

User Client Access Licenses (CALs) FOR MICROSOFT WINDOWS SERVER 2008.
Number of Client Access Licenses: **5**

The Windows Server License includes another 5 CALs Licenses.

I checked in License Server Management tools and I see 10 Licenses Installed and Available.

I wonder if CALS are now the same as RDS but... this is really confusing...

I talked to the person who sold this licenses and he said that these are the same now for local an remote access... is that true?, the point is that 10 users can log in to the server remotetly.

Regards.
Yes TS CALs are now called RDS CAL, see link in first post.

If you have enabled TS on your server, correct, Local and Remote Access the same.

Yes, depends on the CALs purchased per device or per user.
The confusing part is that my supplier offers two different types of Cals, one RDS Cals (explicit) and another just named Cals.
there are many types of Client Access License, RDS, SQL, Windows....
I just called to another supplier and the price that offered for RDS Cals is very different (around 500Usd for 5 Licenses) than these Cals (120Usd for 5 Licenses)
did you read the CALs post above?

what CALS were they? many different types?

Sorry for the delay to reply this, Your last post was very useful, I have noticed this:

"To access RDS in Windows Server, you must acquire both a Windows Server CAL and a Windows Server Remote Desktop Services CAL for each user or device accessing it."

As far as I know the server uses only Windows CALs but they can still connect to it using RDS and a dynamic DNS service (NO-IP), Theylack of licensing of RDS, am I right?
