Folder Permissions
We have a Windows 2008 Standard 32-bit server and it has a Shared folder on the C drive. When trying to access the Security tab it says "To continue, you must be an administrative user with permission to view this object's security properties. Do you want on continue?"
If I click continue I get a message saying "Can't open access control editor. Invalid value for registry."
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Right click the folder and click properties. Click on share and click the Permissions button. What are the permissions listed there? I always add "everyone" as having "full control" at that location and use the security tab to further lock things down.
If that doesn't resolve the issue, you may need to take ownership and reset permissions from a higher level.
Is the folder you're working with in the root of C: or is there another folder it's in?
