Terminal Server Comparison between W2008, W2008 R2, and W2012
Hi,
As I need to create another Terminal Server for about 10 users running Word/Excel/ACCESS, I like to get your opinion as to which windows server version provides the best experience in terms of speed & printer redirection (making local printers available during TS session automatically).
In the past, I have set up W2003, W2008 and W2008 R2 as Terminal Server and W2012 as HyperV Server. I thought W2012 was the fastest in OS loading time and I thought W2008 & R2 about the same.
Having said that, the most important thing to me is which OS is simplest in terms of setup and maintenance. My dream TS version would be the one that make all local printers (USB & Network) appear during TS session. Do you think W2012 would be the best as it will have the most printer drivers available?
Please do not provide the links for comparison. I would appreciate your feedback based on real experience.

Yes I understand USB/MFC printers are hell and I don't expect those to work during TS session. I am talking about IP-based HP/Lexmark printers or canon copiers (most network users are connected to) not all available during Terminal Session. I don't know what criteria TS uses to decide which one it will automatically attach to TS session. My experience is with W2008 or W2008 R2 is that they attach the printer that users use the least often for some reason.
