Employee internet usage tracking, reporting, blocking software through 2008 R2 Terminal server

I have 6 users that are using the internet on my time instead of on their break time. I am looking to install a software that will track, report, and block internet traffic so that I can get my productivity back where it needs to be.

I will be letting everyone know that this will be on there but I know that they will test it. so it must work

My server set up is 2011 sbs handling ad and the main server rolls. then all users connect to a 2008 r2 terminal server to access files and perform daily tasks. 4 of these pc's connect via a thin client so it is all TS for them.

I would really like to be able to control the time certain websites are available. like morning break, lunch etc... so they can use the internet on their time but come off break time I would like to block that site from specific users.

What if any options are working with my configuration and needs?

Your best bet would be to install Threat Management Gateway which you would use as a proxy server. You would be able to define policies for when sites are available and you will also be able to generate usage reports.

ASKER

Thanks SagiEDoc for the reply!

I did look at this however Threat Management Gateway is already end of life and discontinued support ends April 14 2015.

Looking for something more current
