How to install 32 bit printer driver on 64 bit server?
I've done this in the past but having problems this time around. I have a 64 bit win 2008 server and trying to hook up a HP LJ 8150. Most clients have 64 bit Win 7 machines but there are a few 32 bit clients. I am unable to install the additional 32 bit driver on the server. I keep being stopped by the 64 bit / 32 bit incompatibility.
I read somewhere to do it in reverse order and have the 32 bit local to the client and use that to install the printer. That worked but it did not add the driver to the server. Anyone able to let me know how to do this?

Hi, Yes I did install a 64 bit driver for the 64 bit server. 64 bit clients are able to browse to the printer and install it no problem. 32 bit clients get an error message saying it can't find a driver. That's where I'm running into problems.
You install the printer on the 64bit server with the 64bit driver, when you share the printer you go to the printer properties, sharing, additional drivers and add the 32bit drivers there.

Are you trying to install a 32-bit driver on a 64-bit Windows server?
You shouldn't have to. Match the driver to the environment where it being installed. A 32-bit O/S gets the 32-bit driver, a 64-bit O/S gets the 64-bit driver.
