Windows 2012 server activation
Hello,
We installed evaluation copy of windows server 21012 and now wants to activate server with valid license key but not able to do that it gives error saying that you can't activate server coz its a domain controller. Is there is any way to activate server without creating additional domain controller?

I take its the only DC? Sounds like it may be best to just reload a legit copy and go from there. Your network cant be but 6 months old? Just my opinion.

All information, which was provided by predecessors are correct, and there is no possibility to convert directly evaluation version if the server is domain controller.

Problem is we can't install additional domain controller and also we can't reinstall server because server already having few important softwares installed. Is there is any way like to demote the dc, activate server and then again promote server to DC?

First of all Thanks for the solutions provided.
We demoted server and activated the server but after promoted server again to dc when we try to open active directory users and computers we got error.
enclosed error for reference.
Can we fix that error and get dc back online.

You can demote the DC and promote it again, but i thinks there's a workaround here, and it's easy.
