Program that uses access error

We have an application that basically opens an Access database as I understand it. I'm trying to use it on our server when I open it as a user and select anything in it I get the attached error. If I login as domain admin it works fine so it sounds like a rights issue but I I can't tell what right and to what. The user has full control of the shared folder the DB file is in, full control to everything in the ProgramData dir for this program. Has anyone else see this/

I can't identify your configuration from your problem statement.  And I can't tell if "It" refers to the application or the BE.  I also can't tell what the application is written in.

Assuming the application (FE) is Access:
Is the database split?  FE on the local computer and BE on the server?

Are you actually trying to run the application on the server?  Or are you on your local PC which is connected to a server drive?

Does the user have the same version of Access installed for his profile as is installed for the admin?  (generally you don't need to have Access installed on the server so people never actually open a database ON the server.)

Does the user have CRUD permissions on the folder on the server that holds the BE?

The only database is an Access 2003 file on a network share. I'm trying to run it on A server but not the one the DB is on so the server is just a client for this scenario. Access is not installed on this server. I did just try adding this user to the administrators group on this server and if I do that it works but I'd rather not leave it that way if there is some specific folder or file i could give the users access to instead.
