Are you asking specifically about the certification track? It sounds like you've made significant progress on the Windows 2008 certification track - as a hiring manager, I think I'd prefer a completed 2008 certification to somebody who had half of 2008 and half of 2012 but told me they were planning to complete 2012.

If you've already got 70-640, 642, and 643, I'd encourage you to take 70-646 to round out your Windows Server 2008 MCSA. From there, it's just a single exam (70-417) to upgrade your MCSA to Windows Server 2012 (if you try to earn your Server 2012 MCSA from scratch, it's three exams - 410, 411, 412 - and then you'll only have a single version of the certification rather than two). Once you've upgraded (or earned) your Server 2012 MCSA, it appears it's only two more tests (70-341 and 70-342) to earn your "MCSE: Messaging", which is the certification that covers the current version of Exchange.

Good luck!
Expert on 2008 and knowledge on 2012 is enough for now.
Its totally up to you.
