Group Policy object did not apply because it failed with error code '0x80070002'

Dear all,
I migrated from a Windows 2003 to a Windows 2012 R2 DC, AD, DNS, and DHCP. The windows 2003 was demoted last night. I tried to create a single GPO to map a network printer to PCs, but I keep getting this error on the PCs.

The user 'Ops - HP LaserJet Color M551' preference item in the 'Printers Policy {BBFDF8CD-53A9-4B3E-AF4C-9533525CC858}' Group Policy object did not apply because it failed with error code '0x80070002 The system cannot find the file specified.' This error was suppressed.

I tried to change the GPO so that the run in logged -on users security context is checked, but that didn't solve anything. I suspect a corrupt SYSVOL folder or some permission issue some where, but I cannot find where it is.

Any ideas?

Interesting, so I went to \\SERVER and I saw the two printers there, when I double clicked on them an error saying Windows cannot connect to printer... progress... I wonder why.
Are you able to add it manually as a network printer on the workstations?

If the workstations are running 32-bit versions of Windows, make sure you have installed compatible 32-bit drivers on the server as well.
You pointed me to the right direction! I found I could not access the printer via \\SERVER, so I took a step back and reset all print services, uninstall, reinstall, removed printer, reinstalled drivers. Did another test and found that I am able to access via UNC. I also changed to HP universal printer driver, not sure if that had anything to do with it. It works now, did a test on a test user which is a regular domain users and printers were there :)

Thank you very much. You are awesome!
