Question
MTU setting
since I am using ADSL modem connect to Internet thru PPPoE dailer, and other PCs are connected to a hub to share the bandwith
but I found win2000 cannot browse the Internet
I think it is the MTU value becuase after I change this value in Win98 PC , it can sucessful browse the Internet
So, what is the registry of MTU value in Win2000

There is really no hard and fast rule as to what the MTU should be set at as it's dependent on a few different things. Mine is set at 1500 in Win2K but that does not mean that is what your's should be. An article that I have come across recently suggests that PPPoE users would normally set their MTU values to somewhere between 1400-1492.

There is mention of arriving at the proper MTU setting and also covers PPPoE. It is a rather large article but should suffice, in the very least, for what settings you should use. If it turns out not to be the problem, at least you'll have eliminated it and can look at other possible solutions.
