Question

Show all menu items not just the most used.

The menus only show the frequently used items and has the two arrows at the bottom to allow you to display the full list of menu items. This applies everywhere - how do I turn this off.

Open the registry editor, go to "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced" and set 'IntelliMenus' to 'NO'

Did you look under 'HKEY_CURRENT_USER'? (I used regedit/copy key name)

There is no such entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE...

Yes, it's a string value, try to create one (clueless why it isn't there - checked it on 2 W2K Workstations)

Nope, IE and I don't know how that got posted twice - sorry.

I added the string value, rebooted but no change. I can disable it in Office (Tools, Customize) but not in the IE favourites menu. Any other ideas ?

No problem...Just go to Start-Settings-Task Bar and Start Menu and uncheck the Use personalized Menus box at the bottom of the window. Then click Apply and you are good to go.

BTW...If you want to get rid of the personalized menus in IE just follow these steps.

To enable or disable the Internet Explorer personalized Favorites menu:

Start Internet Explorer.

On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.

Click the Advanced tab.

Click to clear or select the Enable Personalized Favorites Menu check box.

Click OK.

One more thing...Sorry I stop ranting after this.  You have to restart IE for the changes to take place.
