*** STOP Error INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

Hi,

Windows-2000 Pro was running great on SP1. I needed some of the fixes in SP2, so I walk thru the install of SP2.

The install appear to go fine, downloading all the files, etc. etc.

When asked to Restart, I said "Yes"; and that machine has not run since.

If I do not come up from Floppies, I get a message that the config file can't be found.

I get a blue screen Telling me this is a STOP error, tons of secret codes:

*** STOP: 0x0000007B, (more codes)
INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE

If this is the 1st time you seen this screen then try again, naturally I can't so back to floppies.

If this is the 2nd time I see this, check for viruses and run chkdsk /f.

Naturally, I can't run anything.

The disk appears to be hosed. Before I totally give up and format the HD and start all over, I'd like any input that might save me this trouble.

I have backups, so that isn't a problem.

I'll start with 50 pts, but for the right input I'll award highly.
