Your out of luck, if the time/date is been set by the server it surgests you are part of a Windows 2000 active directory domain, in which case it is required to logon.

Changing the time will mean you cant logon to the domain anymore.

See the following for claification

-To change the date on a workstation that is part of a domain requires you have the right to change the system time on the local workstation (default permission for Administrator and power users), so you may have to add your domain\user account to localmachine\PowerUsers group.
-Run notepad. Type the word date & save as date.bat on your desktop. When you want to change the date, click on date.bat & enter the new date info.

Hi,Housenet!
What's the exact name of permission that give me change
the system time on my local workstation ?

by: HousenetPosted on 2002-01-04 at 15:32:27ID: 6711416

-Thats a good question. The "right" is in Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Local Security Policy->User Rights Assignment->Change the system time.
-I should inform you of the fact that if the administrator has placed your 2000 computer in an OU, or has configured the default domain policy on the DC, the settings of the OU, or domain policy can override your local policy.
-Group policy setting in 2000 can be canceled if overriden by a policy that is configured at a higher level. Local,Domain,Site. Etc
