Installing Display Adapter

I have a Sony LCD monitor. And the manual says it doesnt need a specific driver to be installed as it complies with the "DDC" Plug and Play Standard. When I installed Windows 2000, the default monotor (VGA) was installed and not the Sony SDM-S51.

When I selected Display --> Advanced, I couldnt see the "Color Management" and "Utility Manager" tabs.

The CD that came with this monitor "TFT LCD Color Computer Diaplay 0 Monitor Information/Utility Cd-ROM", doesn't contain the required drivers.

Can someone help me to change the display adapter (required adapter is SiS 650-651-740)?

Hi There,

Looks Like you need to set the option in Bios for Plug & Play O/S to Yes.

Reboot your PC and enter Bios.

Look at the menus for an entry for PnP/PCI Configurations

In here you will find the setting fro Plug & Play O/s Support.

Set this to Yes and try again.

(My computer is running dual OS with Windows XP( that came pre-installed) and Windows 2000. In XP the display adapter is properly installed.)

I went to the BIOS but I couldnt find an entry PnP/PCI Configuration.

But there is an entry for PCI Configuration. Again theres no option like Plug & Play OS Support.

I updated the driver from the driver folder provided by the manufacturer. Thanks for the help!
