From desktop session right click then choos PROPERTIES ----> DESKTOP ----> CUSTOMIZE DESKTOP ----> GENERAL ----> DESKTOP ICONS then check MY DOCUMENTS

Go to "C:\Documents and Settings\%UserName%"
%UserName% is the name you are currently logging on with.
Select the Folder called "My Documents", by {Right-Mouse} clicking on it. Choose "Copy".
Now on your Desktop, {Right-Mouse} and choose "Paste ShortCut".
