Browse All TopicsHello Guys and Gals,
I just finished configuring a terminal server in application mode. I used the 2000 resource kit to install my office application and..... My problem is every time a user logs into the term-server and try’s to start an application (for example word) they have to wait for windows installer to install the application! What is more frustrating is that every time they log off and log back in, the process of installing the application has to be done all over again! Could anyone tell me how to fix this, so users don’t have to go through this process?
Thanks in advance

Did you install it either with the "Add/Remove Software" wizard or switch to install mode before running setup?

Yes I followed all the correct procedure to installing software in application mode on terminal services.
I finally figured it out. Whenever you log into terminal services it builds a folder for that specific user. What I did was deleted all the folders then reinstalled office. Guess what? IT WORKED!!! So basically it was looking at its old setting all the time. Thanks anyway for all your help!

That is an option when you install MS office, to install the whole thing completely, or to install products as needed. This was obviously set up to install as needed. You may be able to repair office to fix this, or uninstall and completely re-install it.
