Browse All TopicsI have outside HTTP and POP3 users who authenticate via our domain controllers. For whatever reason an administrator I work with unchecked the block inheritance for group policy and the default domain policy was applied to the OU these users belong to. The problem with this is that their passwords were set to expire after 30 days and they have no mechanism for changing their passwords once the 30 days was up. I went in and checked the block inheritance but some of the users are still having trouble authenticating until I reset their password. Also, their accounts never get locked out they just cannot login until we change their password.
Does anyone know if that 30 day password expiration limit still applies to the users who were previously affected by this policy before the inheritance was blocked?

Since the policy has been applied, the users have most likely been affected even if you block the policy again.
